Hi and welcome to my blog!   My name is Marcelo Lewin and I manage an interactive media department for a major home builder.   We build websites, create videos, podcasts and lots of training on demand videos.  I love interactive media and where the market is headed (the complete merging of web and video)!

Through this blog (and in the very near future, also podcast), I plan on sharing my knowledge of interactive media as I work day to day creating and managing different media projects.

I don’t claim to know it all, in fact, I know I don’t, however, I want to share my successes and failures with you so that you don’t repeat the same mistakes I make (and maybe learn something along the way).

I trully love working with this new technology and I hope you join me in this techno-adventure that we, as digital media dudes and dudettes out there, have embarked on.

What tools do I work on?   I love Adobe!   All of my tools are mainly from Adobe (though I do have some other tools from other vendors)

For the web, I love Dreamweaver, ColdFusion (MX7 and beta 8), Javascript, HTML, Flex and now I’m playing a bit around with AJAX.

For video/audio/podcasts I love both Adobe’s suite (I have the Production Suite including Premiere Pro 2.0, After Effects 7.0, Encore DVD and Audition), but sometimes I do my stuff on the Mac using Final Cut Pro (Studio).  Can’t decided which one I like better.  They are both great and have issues.

For Training On Demand Videos I mainly use Techsmith’s Camtasia on the Windows side.   It’s a fantastic product.  On the Mac, I use SnapZ Pro.  It’s not bad, but it’s not great, especially compared to Camtasia.

For Photography, I own a Canon 30D and do all my post strictly on the Mac.  I use Aperture 1.5, which I love.  I have used Adobe Lightroom and I like it, but I don’t like the interface, I prefer Aperture’s interface.  It fits my style of working.

Other tools I use include Microsoft VSS, PowerDesigner 11 (for Database design…did I mention I love designing databases?), MS Office Suite and a variety of other smaller applications.

From a production perspective, I use a Canon XL2 and an Arri Light kit.  I shoot lots of green screen for our videos, with a good mixture of onsite (on location) shooting as well.

What can I tell you!  I love electronic toys!  Anyhow, until the next blog entry!
