Man! They just don’t stop (thank goodness…continues improvement). There was a flurry of updates last night between Apple and Adobe.

Apple

  1. Leopard 10.5.1 - This is the first update to Leopard since it was released on October 7. There are updates to Airport, Back to My Mac, Disk utilities, iCal, Mail, Networking, Printing, Security, Firewall, System and Finder and Time Machine. For more information check out the release notes here.
  2. iMac Graphics Firmware Update 1.0 - An update for 20 and 24 inch aluminum iMac computers with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics processor. This addresses the issues of the computer freezing randomly.

Adobe

  1. Photoshop 10.0.1 - Speed improvements; CMYK conversion updates; Save for Web feature now includes an option to include XMP in the settings (very cool!!). You can find the release notes here.
  2. Bridge 2.1.1 - New preference to enable High Quality Preview has been added to preferences; Data loss fixes; Issues that caused Bridge to crash fixed; XMP updates; Release notes can be found here.
  3. Lightroom 1.3 - New raw formats for Canon 1Ds Mark III and PowerShot G9, Nikon D3 and D300, Olympus E-3 and SP-560 UZ and Panasonic DMC-L10. XMP metadata updates, printing updates, Canon sRAW and Fuji RAF formats now supported, Import and export dialog box enhancements. A new Lightroom Preview Export SDK was introduced where by developers can write plug ins for exporting images (e.g. exporting directly to FlickR). Release notes can be found here. You can find out more about the SDK here.

That’s it (for today at least). My two most favorite companies (Adobe and Apple) keep giving us better products!

Cheers!
