Once you learn some simple shortcuts, your editing will become streamlined and you will notice a decrease in the time it takes you to edit a video. - Quick editing begins with learning shortcuts.
- Shortcuts covered in this podcasts include:
- OPTION+J = Button List
- CMD+1 - Viewer
- CMD+2 - Canvas
- CMD+3 - Timeline
- CMD+4 - Browser
- In the browser, use up and down arrow keys to travel through files or inside folders.
- In the browser, use right and left arrow keys to travel through folders.
- In the browser, hit return key to select clip.
- SPACE = Play video
- J = Reverse play (hit multiple times to speed up play)
- L = Forward play (hit multiple times to speed up play)
- HOME = Beginning of video
- i = Set in point.
- o = Set out point.
- F9 = Insert edit.
- F10 = Overwrite edit.
- In the timeline F6 is video 1 patch. Hit SHIFT+F6 to disconnect or F6 + a number to connect to that track #.
- In the timeline F7 is audio 1 patch. Hit SHIFT+F7 to disconnect or F7 + a number to connect to that track #.
- In the timeline F8 is audio 2 patch. Hit SHIFT+F8 to disconnect or F8 + a number to connect to that track #.
- In the timeline UP/DOWN arrows moves you to edit points.
- CMD + T = Default video transition.
- CMD + OPTION + T = Default audio transition.
- V = Select edit.
