Are you or your company looking for a solution to webcast your next product introduction, news item or whatever else you want to communicate to the public? Check out Wirecast from Vara Software.

For only $449, Wirecast is a perfect solution to start webcasting today. It supports multiple cameras, including HDV (though that is a module you have to purchase separately for $99). It also supports live Chroma keying, and the ability to create multiple broadcasts for multiple destinations at the same time (e.g. a high quality version, a lower quality version, etc.)

Wirecast even allows you to record what you are webcasting live. You can edit on the fly with multiple transitions, special effects, lower 3rds, etc.

If your webcast needs to stream not only video, but presentation material, you can (for free) add the Desktop Presenter to any computer that has a presentation running (e.g. Power Point, Keynote) and it will broadcast that presentation to your Wirecast, which will appear as a camera source that you can switch to during the webcast. Very cool stuff!
