My home page on my browser is set to CNN.com. I love reading their stories. So, as part of my morning routine, after getting my 1st cup of coffee, I turn on the computer and launch Safari. A news headline catches my eye “Rotating car has no need for reverse“. Like typical, they have a little “video camera” icon to watch the video. But then I notice next to it a new icon. It’s a shirt icon. I click on the shirt icon and it takes me to the CNN shirt store where a user can select a T-shirt size, color and the headline they just read will be printed on it. What a creative way to monetize their story content. Print t-shirts with news headlines on it. And this is CNN, not a small content provider. After digging further, I realized that CNN has signed up as a premium subscriber to a service called SpreadShirt.com, which allows you to create a custom clothing design shop online. Very cool stuff. I think that Pixel Heads Network will soon have a clothing line. Why not, if CNN headlines are sexy, I think Pixel Heads Network news headlines can be sexy too. I can see it now “I was interviewed on Meet The Experts!” |
