Out of the new features, what interests me the most is the video annotations and YouTube Insight. With video annotations, you can easily add notes, links and hot spots to your video. This opens up the ability to make the video interactive and to link it to other videos within YouTube.com. The only draw back which I don’t like, is that you can only link the hotspots to other videos inside of YouTube, you can’t link out. That’s pretty lame in my opinion. Yes, I know, they want to keep you in YouTube, but imagine being able to link a product inside a video to your Amazon.com affiliate page and make a sale. How cool would that be? With YouTube Insight, you can now see not only how many views your video had, but the break down in gender and age range. Pretty cool stuff. Looks like all of my videos are currently being watched by 90 year old males. Not sure what that means though. Hmmm….maybe I need to change my intro music. |
