I’m very proud and happy to announce that Pixel Heads Network has been acquired by ProMAX Systems. First of all a little history about Pixel Heads Network. Pixel Heads Network started as The Digital Media Dude back in late 2007 as my personal blog about anything related to new media and digital media creation. I was working full time managing an interactive media studio, so this has been, for the past entire year, a part time endeavor, balancing it with my full time job and my family. By Marcelo Lewin On September 23, 2008, Adobe will announce when CS4 is coming out. No, it’s not being released on September 23rd, they are announcing when they will be releasing the CS4 suite. Still, this is exciting. I can’t wait. I love CS3 and I think CS4 is probably going to be a huge step forward, both in features and inter-application integration. [Read The Full Story] |

Yes, life is good. After Apple announced and released the iPhone / iPod Toch software update (version 2.0), I had a chance to install it on my iPod Touch (32GB) and play with it. It’s amazing! You basically now have a ultra mini Mac on the plam of your hand. The iPhone 2.0 software install was a breeze. I ran iTunes, went to my iPod Touch home screen and clicked on the “software update” button. The rest was a simple updated. [Read The Full Story] |

He will be big one day! ;-) So, Mr. Jobs introduced many new things at WDDC 2007 (World Wide Developer Conference) . Ok, so I think Apple makes some pretty cool computers. But here is my one great beef I have with Apple; they never tell me when they are coming out with a new machine. I know what you are thinking. “Well, if Apple would tell you that they are coming out with a new machine, then you would never purchase their old inventory.” I understand that argument. But still, I hate Apple for screwing me all the time like that. Last time, I purchased my iMac G5 and the salesmen told me that it was the latest version of the iMac and that I was going to love it. Ok, so I did love it, but 3 weeks later my “new iMac” became “my old iMac” due to the new Intel Dual Core versions and a 24″ on top of that (I have the 20″). So I was thinking of getting the MacBook Pro last month and spoke with a sales person and he told me that he didn’t know about any new laptop coming out pretty soon. I didn’t trust him and decided to wait and see. [Read The Full Story] |

Adobe wants to take over desktop application development, not just web development. Their forey into this arena is called Apollo. What is Apollo? Apollo is a runtime you have to install on your computer that is cross platform. Think of Apollo just like .Net, except it runs on multiple platforms (Mac, Windows and Linux) and instead of you using VB.Net or C# to write applications, you would use what you already know and love (that is if you are a web developer), web technologies such as Flash, AJAX, HTML, Javascript, Flex, etc. What’s very cool about this is that you can code applications for the web that can go offline and be used offline in a desktop setting across platforms. They will continue to sell their regular DRM encoded library for 99 cents, but the new DRM free library will be $1.29 and will be encoded at 256KBPS (the DRM encoded ones are encoded at 128KBPS). Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Marcelo Lewin and I manage an interactive media department for a major home builder. We build websites, create videos, podcasts and lots of training on demand videos. I love interactive media and where the market is headed (the complete merging of web and video)! Through this blog (and in the very near future, also podcast), I plan on sharing my knowledge of interactive media as I work day to day creating and managing different media projects. I don’t claim to know it all, in fact, I know I don’t, however, I want to share my successes and failures with you so that you don’t repeat the same mistakes I make (and maybe learn something along the way).
